Science Strategies

Science Strategies
Which of the following makes teaching a science? Is it its techniques, methods, strategies, or its approaches?

It’s not my homework… I found this question in a licensure exam reviewer and I doubted whether there is indeed a one correct answer… I posted it here for other experts’ opinions… Thanks a lot by the way…

May be we should start out with defining the word ’science’. ‘The word science comes from the Latin ’scientia’, meaning knowledge. How do we define science? According to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, one of the the definitions of science is ‘knowledge attained through study or practice,
Techniques, strategies and approaches are all synonyms of methods.
In the teaching of science there is the scientific method which starts with a question and uses different experiments to solve the question and come up with a conclusion to prove or disprove the hypothesis. In teaching, we usually start out with an objective not unlike an hypothesis and using various methods hopes the students will learn the skill taught.Usually if at first the student fails to master the skill the teacher reteaches using a different strategy and maybe repeats, using still a different technique or approach until the student masters the skill.
So to answer your question, If teaching is the acquiring or imparting of knowledge, that makes it a science. And the fact that we employ different methods, techniques, strategies and approaches in the imparting of this knowledge makes it a science
